Culture and sports play a vital role in IST’s life, therefore extending university life beyond education.

Cinema, theatre, music, painting and academic journalism, photography, radio broadcasting, among other activities, play a growing role at IST, therefore contributing to stimulate and develop the students’ academic spirit and creative potential. TUIST and TFIST, male and female students’ musical groups of IST are vital in stimulating academic life and promoting IST, in Portugal and abroad.
Sports
The IST is equipped with the necessary infrastructure for you to play the most varied sports such as Basketball, Football, Handball and Rugby, among many others. There is also an in-door swimming-pool, a multi-sports filed, a tennis court and a gym-sports pavilion.
